Becoming a teacher on ConnectED is simple. You don’t need to be a professional teacher — we’re looking for people with genuine knowledge, skills or professional experience that others can learn from.
Step 1 — Create your account
Create a ConnectED account and select “Become a Teacher.”
Step 2 — Complete your teacher application
Tell us a little about yourself, including:
* Your professional or educational background
* Your areas of expertise
* What you would like to teach
* Your relevant experience or qualifications
* A short teacher bio
Step 3 — Create your teacher profile
Your profile helps students understand who they are learning from.
Add a professional profile photo and a short bio explaining your experience, expertise and what students can expect to learn from you.
Step 4 — Submit your application
Once you’ve completed your profile, submit your application to ConnectED.
We’ll review the information you’ve provided to help ensure teachers on the platform have relevant knowledge and experience.
Step 5 — Get approved
Once approved, your Teacher Dashboard will be activated and you’ll be ready to create your first class.
From your dashboard, select “Create a Class” and choose whether you want to offer a Live Class or other available class format.
Log in to your Teacher Dashboard and select “Create a Class.”
Choose “Live Class” and complete the required information, including the class title, description, category, learning outcomes, date and time, duration, maximum number of students, price and live-class URL.
Preview your class to make sure everything is correct and then select “Publish” or “Submit for Approval.”
Create your online meeting before publishing your live class. You will then paste the student joining link into the “Live Class URL” field on ConnectED.
Using Zoom
1. Sign in to Zoom and select “Schedule.”
2. Enter the name of your ConnectED class.
3. Set the date, start time and duration to match your ConnectED listing.
4. Save the meeting.
5. Copy the student joining link generated by Zoom.
6. Return to ConnectED and paste it into “Live Class URL.”
Your link will normally look similar to:
https://zoom.us/j/XXXXXXXXXXX
Using Microsoft Teams
1. Open Microsoft Teams and go to Calendar.
2. Select “New meeting.”
3. Enter the name of your ConnectED class.
4. Set the correct date, start time and end time.
5. Save the meeting.
6. Open the meeting and select “Copy join link.”
7. Return to ConnectED and paste the link into “Live Class URL.”
The link will normally begin with:
https://teams.microsoft.com/
Important: Test the link before publishing. Make sure you paste the link students use to join the meeting, rather than a link to your personal account or meeting-management page.
You choose your price.
Consider your experience, the length of the class, how specialised the subject is, the number of students, the amount of direct interaction and any additional resources included.
A specialist workshop for a small group may therefore be priced differently from a large introductory class
You choose the maximum number of students.
Smaller groups can work well for interactive workshops, discussions and individual feedback, while larger groups may be suitable for presentations and lecture-style classes.
Once all available places have been booked, additional students will no longer be able to book that session.
Once your class has been approved and published, students can discover and book it through ConnectED.
You can track bookings through your Teacher Dashboard and share your ConnectED class page through LinkedIn, WhatsApp, email or your own network.
You do not need to manually send the Zoom or Teams link to every student. Students who successfully book will receive the information required to access their class through ConnectED.
We recommend being ready at least 10 minutes before your class begins.
Before going live:
* Test your internet connection.
* Check your camera and microphone.
* Test your Zoom or Teams link.
* Open your presentation and teaching materials.
* Test screen sharing.
* Make sure the meeting time matches your ConnectED listing.
* Join the meeting before your students.
Students have paid for the class, so you should be ready to begin at the advertised time.
If you can no longer teach at the advertised time, update or cancel the class through your Teacher Dashboard as soon as possible and in accordance with ConnectED’s cancellation policy.
If students have already booked, do not simply delete the Zoom or Teams meeting. ConnectED needs to know about the change so students can be informed and the appropriate rescheduling or refund process can take place.
If you change the date or time, remember to update both your ConnectED listing and Zoom or Teams meeting.
Once your class has been completed, students may be invited to rate and review their experience.
You can view your bookings, class performance and eligible earnings through your Teacher Dashboard.
ConnectED deducts its applicable platform commission, and your remaining eligible earnings are paid according to the teacher payout schedule.
If your class was successful, you can schedule it again for another group of students.
Create. Teach. Build your reputation. Earn from your expertise.
You keep 80% of the sales from your classes which is distributed once the class has finished.
You can track your bookings and eligible earnings through your Teacher Dashboard.
Teachers can build and preview their course in Studio before submitting it for review.
